Neutron Backscatter Scan Application

The Neutron Backscatter Scan is a fast, non-invasive, and highly accurate solution for measuring liquid phases—such as hydrocarbons, water, and sludge—inside vessels or tanks. Whether online or offline, this application delivers real-time results, enabling immediate process adjustments. Primarily used for scanning large-diameter process equipment, this technology can also assess deposit levels in pipes The system consists of a radioactive neutron source paired with an electronic detector, positioned close together within a measuring head. This setup allows direct interaction with the equipment’s exterior, eliminating the need to remove insulation.
